“You must have had a good guardian angel”, is what people sometimes say when they believe God has had a hand in it. In art history there were different ideas of mysterious helpers between gods and human beings: beastlike or anthropomorphic creatures, with or without wings. The Bible also knows different kinds of angels – helpful companions, messengers with surprising news and angry warriors who show up beside humans all at once and disappear again. We will get to know some of them and learn about their history and then draw our own angels!
