The couple made wrapping their subject a signature feature of their art and elevated it to a monumental scale. World-famous architectural landmarks were thus temporarily concealed behind an artfully draped fabric covering, which hid the familiar from view and opened up new perspectives. From 4 May to 31 July, discover a selection of artworks by Christo and Jeanne-Claude at the Diocesan Museum.

The wrapping of the Reichstag from 24 June to 7 July 1995 was spectacular in every sense. The political building underwent a transformation: the result was a poetic image – entirely in keeping with the artists’ vision – that was open to interpretation, its magic lying precisely in its transience. For just as important as the wrapping itself was the unwrapping at the end of the art project.

Reports on the Reichstag project frequently featured terms drawn from a religious context. This is no coincidence, given that the act of covering oneself is an integral part of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

This exhibition featuring works by Christo and Jeanne-Claude enables us to rediscover and re-examine a key moment in the Christian tradition. It also offers us an insight into the work of a world-famous artistic couple whose creativity and pioneering projects have fundamentally transformed our perception of art.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”147566″]
  if (typeof hasAmeliaEvent === 'undefined') {
    var hasAmeliaEvent = true;
  }
  if (typeof hasEventApiCall === 'undefined' && '' === '') {
    var hasEventApiCall = true;
  }
  var hasEventShortcode = (typeof hasEventShortcode === 'undefined') ? false : true;
  var bookingEntitiesIds = (typeof bookingEntitiesIds === 'undefined') ?
