Get the picture – the new motto of the Diocesan Museum in Rottenburg
After almost 30 years of existence, the Diocesan Museum was completely renovated and redesigned in 2024/25. The aim of this measure was to break down barriers – to the building as well as to the collection and its contents.
The museum’s richly figurative images serve as an anchor point. They reflect Christian narrative and pictorial traditions from the Bible and past centuries. At the same time, they deal with timeless and existential themes such as family, identity formation, friendship and many more.
The new concept underlines the museum’s orientation: it is an open place of experience, offering space for exchange and encounter on an equal footing and promoting curiosity and creativity.
A visit is fun!
We look forward to welcoming you to the reopened Diocesan Museum from 9 November and celebrating the new exhibition together at the events in our programme of festivities.
